Hello everyone! =)

Hello everyone! This is Aparna Kher. I am a 10th grade student. I live in Pune (Maharashtra) in India. This is my project named ‘Save Ourselves’. Well the name is self explanatory but still for all those who think this could be interesting or maybe worth your time, I’ll elaborate.

You know, in this world, there are so many problems we face ourselves, see others face them, hear about them or something like that. Poverty, injustice, corruption, and what not…the list seems to be endless…But there has to be a solution for this right? I mean how long will this go on? We, apparently the most intelligent species on this planet, have been born to do good, be good and see good. Then why is so much of BAD around us here? Do we really seem to care enough? Or it is just for the sake of it? Does the fact that the problem simply does not concern you mean that you, a responsible citizen of your country, a worthy living soul in this world, should do absolutely nothing about it? Well I don’t think so!

I mean sure, there are hundreds of thousands of NGOs, non-profit organisations, clubs, groups,etc who help and are willing to help the needy…but isn’t everyone a needy in this case? Doesn’t everyone have a problem to deal with? Doesn’t everyone go in search of happiness, a sense of well being, a sense of being useful to someone?

What I think is that we are capable, mature and responsible enough to shoulder this difficult task of letting go of our self-centeredness and do our bit for saving this world. I sincerely believe that love, happiness, hope and faith is what cures our egos, our pains, our broken hearts and our tampered souls. To let go of our problems by doing a good deed is not a very difficult task is it? Well, thats where I start from…and if you are with me..so do you. Together we can take tiny steps towards humanity, together we can unite our divided men, together we can transform one small ray of hope into a beautiful reality.

Thank you for sparing a few minutes and reading this. I sincerely hope that I inspired at least a few willing souls who would agree with me and support me. Do wait for my next post. More about Save Ourselves next time!
