Hello people ! Writing after two long months. As I told you, I would not be completely giving up on Save Ourselves…. So now here I am, willing to continue writing about what I experience and feel about our needs to change as a society. I hope you take it in the right spirit and can support me in what I do.
So lately, psychology, emotional versions of people, feelings and the works of the mind have taken up a lot of my thoughts. Thanks to my mother, who is a psychologist, some of her psychology related attributes have managed to reach to me, taking up a lot of space in my heart.
So that’s what I’m gonna do now. Tell you about the things that flow through my mind and make me ponder….
As I make my my way through the journey called life, experiences have filled themselves up in the diary of my mind. One such collection of experiences has led me to wonder about why society treats the not-so-average people so differently. For example if a kid is not that good in studies he is going to be looked down upon as a dumb kid. He’s gonna be judged based on his grades and is gonna be constantly reminded of his unsatisfactory behaviour as a student.
On the other hand if a child is brilliant at school work and gets the top ranks throughout school, he’s gonna cast aside and named a geek or a nerd. Basically someone who has no life other than academics. Both these people are gonna be called ‘weird’. And I don’t think that’s right.
Maybe I’m confusing you here because of my lack of expression abilities. But what I mean to say is that if a person is outside the definition of being average in this society, he or she is more often than not, shunned away or treated differently. Its as if its unnatural to be too beautiful or too ugly. Too thin or too fat. Too dumb or too smart. Too lazy or too athletic. Too carefree or too obsessed about work.
Why is it so ? No one basically chose the way they are right now. This statement is more applicable to the ones who get judged based on their physical attributes. That ugly kid didn’t ask for an ugly face. Why can’t we forget about how he looks like and look at the beauty of his innocence, the beauty of his soul ?
That fat girl did not WANT to be fat. She cannot help that her body functions a little bit differently than those skinny people. Why don’t we stop and try to think that she might have had some problems which might have caused her to be like this. Maybe she isn’t trying that hard to get back into shape or whatever it is ! But does she not deserve a chance to be called beautiful ? To be loved and befriended just like that skinny girl who sits next to her in school ? Does she not deserve to be treated like a human ? Because, open your eyes dear people, she is as human as you and me.
What we basically are good at is making people feel bad about themselves.
Why do we take pleasure in snatching away peoples’ individuality and then throwing it down into the depths of hate, envy and negativity ? Why are we practically being raised in a judgemental environment ? I won’t lie. I have been a judgemental person countless times in my life. But fortunately I have crossed paths with people who’ve shown me the right way. I’ve fallen, realised and now I’m growing up above all the hate and negativity. Growing up where peace resides and happiness lingers. Now that’s what I think all of us should do. As a society. Yes we’ve fallen. But now its time to realise our mistakes and wrong doings. Its time to grow up.
Let us show hate, jealousy and all these hurtful feelings where they belong : ‘outside our minds’. Let’s strive to change and grow into people who do not possess a judgemental attitude. Let’s be a society who respects individuality.
I sincerely request you to take this in the right spirit. Thank you ! See you soon. Please leave your feedback in the comment box. It’ll be much appreciated. Have a good life. ❤😊
